Bio

Michelle Pryde, daughter to Collin and Deana, was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta where she began playing soccer at the age of three which mostly involved chasing butterflies and eating watermelon.  Michelle continued on to play soccer with Alberta Soccer Association at age 12, competing at the BMO Cup Canadian National Championships during later years. 

She was also captain of her club soccer team, Calgary Foothills Voltage, where she became a well-tested and well-travelled player of the game.  This past summer, Michelle was playing with an exhibition USL Pro-Am W-League soccer team, Calgary Foothills WFC.  As an Axewoman, Michelle was named Acadia Athletics 2012 Women’s Soccer Rookie of The Year where she played all 13 games that season, scoring her first-ever point for the Axewomen in a 1-1 draw versus SMU. 

In her second year, Michelle started and played all 13 games, scoring two more career goals for the Axewomen. In her third year, Michelle attended the Governor General’s Academic All-Canadian Commendation, where she was awarded as a CIS Top 8 Academic All-Canadian.  Currently in her fourth year, Michelle has been named Captain of the Axewomen for the 2015 – 2016 season. 

During her time at Acadia, Michelle has enjoyed community involvement with Global Brigades, the S.M.I.L.E. program, and the RCMP Anti-Bullying Campaign/WITS, and, while home in Calgary, has enjoyed her volunteer efforts at McKenzie Towne Retirement Residence.
