Acadia lost 73–60 to StFX on Wednesday night at the Saputo Center in Antigonish. The Axewomen trailed 17–12 after the first quarter and 37–27 at halftime. They cut the gap with a 22–16 third quarter to trail 53–49, but StFX closed it out 20–11 in the fourth.
Sarah Delorey led Acadia with 15 points and 13 rebounds. She added three blocks. Taya Dixon scored a team-high 18 points and grabbed six rebounds. Samantha Russell had 13 points, six rebounds and three steals. Bianca Helmig finished with 11 points and a team-best seven assists.
StFX put four players in double figures. Abby Mercer scored 16 points. Lauren Neeve and Mali Straker each had 15. Kristine Cooper added 14 points and seven assists.
Acadia won the boards 36–24 but committed 22 turnovers. StFX turned 15 turnovers the other way and outscored Acadia's bench 30–3. From three-point range, Acadia went 1-for-11; StFX hit 11-for-27. At the line, Acadia was 19-for-26; StFX went 10-for-11.
