Acadia lost 5-4 in a shootout to StFX on Saturday night at Andrew H. McCain Arena.
Brayden Schmitt scored twice for Acadia, including a power-play goal at 3:06 of the first period and an even-strength marker at 18:46 of the second. He was named the game's first star.
Corson Hopwo tied the game 3–3 at 9:52 of the third, with assists from Brendan Tomilson and Bailey Peach. Kian Bell gave Acadia a 4–3 lead at 15:46, but StFX's Logan O'Neil tied it with nine seconds left to force overtime.
Thomas Couture made 38 saves on 42 shots for Acadia. StFX's Patrick Leaver stopped 20 of 24. Final shots were 42–24 for StFX.
Acadia went 1-for-3 on the power play, while StFX was 0-for-3. Each team took three minor penalties for six minutes. Attendance was 1,124.
