Kitzul commits to Axewomen volleyball program
The Acadia Axewomen volleyball program is excited to announce the addition of Kaydence Kitzul as part of their 2025-26 recruitment class.
A standout setter from Vernon, B.C., Kitzul brings an impressive track record of athletic success and leadership.
Kitzul, standing at 5’10, will be joining Acadia's business program. Known for her commanding presence on the court, she is eager to experience the unique passion and community spirit of Acadia University.
“As a student-athlete entering Acadia, I cannot express my excitement for home games and playing in front of the community of Wolfville,” she said. “The love and passion the town expresses towards Acadia athletes is incomparable to any other university and allows athletes to acknowledge why they play and who they play for.”
A two-time provincial all-star, she has proven herself as one of the top young talents in the country. She led her high school team, Vernon Secondary School, to consecutive Valley championship titles in 2022 and 2023 and helped secure a second-place finish at the senior provincial championship in 2023.
In addition to her school accomplishments, she played club volleyball with Sky Volleyball Club and Firehawk Volleyball Club – where she was a 2024 provincial champion. Provincially, she was a member of Team BC in 2023. She also played in the BC Summer Games in 2022 and was a Team BC alternate in 2024.
“We are very fortunate to have built an early relationship with Kaydence and her family,” said head coach Michelle Wood. “Kaydence is one of the top setters in the country. She runs a commanding offence and as a left-handed athlete, has the versatility to swing and be a threat on the right side. She will be a fantastic leader for our program.”
Acadia looks forward to seeing Kitzul thrive both on and off the court, as she begins her journey with the Axewomen next year.
