Walker brings speed and offensive production to Acadia
Hamilton native recorded 186 points in 196 OJHL games
The Acadia Axemen hockey program has added experience, speed and offensive production to its forward group with the commitment of Hamilton, Ont., native Ethan Walker for the upcoming U SPORTS season.
Walker, a 6'0 left-shot forward, joins the Axemen after a productive and decorated junior hockey career in Ontario. He will study business at Acadia.
Over five seasons in junior hockey, Walker appeared in 196 Ontario Junior Hockey League regular-season games with the Lindsay Muskies, Burlington Cougars and Leamington Flyers. During that span, he recorded 74 goals and 112 assists for 186 points, establishing himself as a consistent offensive contributor and reliable two-way forward.
Walker earned significant recognition throughout his OJHL career, being named an OJHL All-Star four times and earning selection to the league’s prestigious Top Prospects/20-Year-Old Game, showcasing the league’s top graduating talent.
Walker also spent part of his junior career in the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League with the Niagara Falls Canucks, where he collected eight goals and 11 assists in 47 games. During his time in the GOJHL, he was selected to the league’s Future Stars All-Star Game, recognizing him as one of the league’s top young players.
His strongest postseason run came with the Leamington Flyers in 2026. Walker contributed four goals and two assists in 10 playoff games, helping the club make a deep run while continuing to provide offence in key situations.
Acadia head coach Darren Burns said Walker's pace and competitiveness will make him a valuable addition to the program.
“Ethan brings an excellent work ethic, speed and tenacity to the rink every day,” said Burns. “His speed and drive will be a strong addition to our team.”
Walker said the opportunity to join one of the country's most respected university hockey programs was an easy decision.
“I am truly honoured to commit the next four years to Acadia University, an institution with a proud history of excellence and a strong tradition of competing at the highest level in U SPORTS,” he said.
“I’m excited for the opportunity to contribute to such a respected program, and I’m committed to bringing hard work, dedication and a team-first mentality every day. I hope to be a valuable addition to the roster and to play a meaningful role in our pursuit of the University Cup.”
