UPEI pushed for the equalizer, including a power-play opportunity following a penalty to Ryder McIntyre, but Couture and the Axemen held firm defensively. The Panthers pulled their goaltender in the final minutes, yet Acadia maintained control and closed out the win.
Richard and Crête provided the Panthers' scoring, with Crête winning 14 of 22 faceoffs to lead both teams. Arsenault added an assist, while Brett Bressette went 9-for-9 in the faceoff circle.
