HALIFAX, N.S. — The Acadia Axemen erased a three-goal deficit and beat the Dalhousie Tigers 4–3 in overtime on Wednesday at the Halifax Forum.
Dalhousie led 3–0 after two periods on goals by Brody Fournier (5:05 of the first), Kai Dunits (3:07 of the second) and Luke Johnston shorthanded (8:58 of the second).
Acadia's comeback started early in the third when Brendan Mairs scored at 2:32 from Brayden Schmitt. Zak Lavoie tied the game with two goals in 68 seconds, finishing at 12:02 from Roenick Jodoin and again at 13:10 from Schmitt.
In three-on-three overtime, Kian Bell won it at 1:53, taking a two-on-one feed from Tyler Deline and picking the top corner. Keagan Slaney also drew an assist.
Nicholas Sheehan made 13 saves for Acadia, while Kaiden Kirkwood stopped 35 shots for Dalhousie. The Axemen outshot the Tigers 39–16. Acadia went 0-for-3 on the power play; Dalhousie was 0-for-1. Attendance was 122.
