Axemen welcome quarterback Tyran Duval
The Acadia Axemen are gaining a proven leader under centre with the addition of quarterback Tyran Duval, who brings experience from both the U SPORTS and CJFL levels.
The 6’0, 195-pound Abbotsford, B.C., native began his university football journey with the Saskatchewan Huskies in Canada West before moving to the Canadian Junior Football League (CJFL), where he starred for the Valley Huskers. Over three seasons with the Huskers, he threw for more than 4,000 yards and 30 touchdowns, earning team MVP honours. He also served as team captain in 2023 and 2024.
Duval’s football resume dates back to his standout high school career at W.J. Mouat Secondary, where he was a two-time team MVP and the school’s Male Athlete of the Year. He finished his high school career with over 6,000 passing yards and 40 touchdowns.
Now, Duval is ready to take on a new challenge in the Atlantic University Sport (AUS) conference.
“It feels great to be part of such a close-knit group,” Duval said. “I’m looking forward to bringing my experience and leadership to the team and to grow a winning culture once again.”
Duval will study business at Acadia while continuing his football career with the Axemen.
