Burns and Lemay-Evans named Acadia athletes of the week
Brady Burns (men’s hockey) and Alexia Lemay-Evans (women’s volleyball) have been named Acadia athletes of the week for the period ending Jan. 11 following strong performances in AUS competition.
Burns, a third-year community development student from Port Williams, N.S., recorded five points on the week, opening the second half of the season with an assist in an 8–0 win over Dalhousie before posting two goals and two assists in a 6–2 victory over STFX. He finished the week a team-best plus-6.
Lemay-Evans, a fourth-year kinesiology student from Sudbury, Ont., led the Axewomen with 18 points from 18 kills while hitting .342 in Saturday’s 3-1 home win over Saint Mary’s. She also added 10 digs as Acadia kept pace in the AUS playoff race.
