(HALIFAX, N.S.) Nova Scotia Supreme Court Associate Chief Justice Deborah Smith ordered today that the 2017 Loney Bowl should be played, between Saint Mary's University and Acadia University, no later than Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2017.
"AUS respects the court's decision. However, this is not a final decision. The court has imposed a temporary injunction, suspending the decision to cancel the game," commented Phil Currie, executive director of Atlantic University Sport. "AUS believes that it has the authority and made the right decision to cancel the game and that the court will ultimately confirm this."
"In the meantime we hope for a successful and safe Loney Bowl Tuesday in Wolfville."
The 2017 AUS football championship final game—the AUS Loney Bowl—will now be played Tuesday, Nov. 14 at Acadia University at 2 p.m. AST.
